Afternoon Tea at The Language Training Co

Updated: Oct 10, 2023

Our amazing student Julia from Spain reports on an activity held at the school last week...

Last week we carried out an activity that seemed very interesting to me.

In the Afternoon Tea we were able to try some typical British foods and sweets. Our teacher Laura explained to us what Afternoon Tea was and showed us the order in which we had to take each meal: first the sandwiches, then scones with jam and clotted cream, cakes and finally the typical English Tea.

Of the sandwiches, the one I liked the most was the Coronation Chicken (it was created to celebrate the coronation of Elizabeth II) and the one I liked the least maybe the cucumber one since I'm not a fan of cucumber. Of the cakes, the one I liked the most was undoubtedly the mini Bakewell tart.

I am from Spain and I found the flavours of the food very interesting since I am not used to those flavours. Moreover, the students from the school spent a good

time talking to get to know each other more. I found it to be a very interesting and successful activity.
